Storage Checklist

Before you move into a Safestore-myStorage centre, there are a few things you’ll need to organise. Check that you have the following in place:

✓ Insurance Cover
Your goods must be insured whilst in storage. Safestore-myStorage offers insurance protection under our insurance policy. In addition, you must declare the current new replacement value of all property being stored. This means the cost to replace your items with a new equivalent, not the price you paid when you purchased each item.

✓ Direct Debit Payments
You’ll need to complete the forms to set up a direct debit payment for your rental period.

✓ Credit/Debit Card or Cheque
Your initial rental payment and security deposit must be provided by credit card, debit card or cheque. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept cash payments.

✓ Set access code
After signing the contract, you can set a personal access code. With this, you can enter the storage centre daily from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. (Berlin and Fürth until midnight) and have convenient and unrestricted access to your storage room.

✓ Lock your storage room
You are the only key holder to your space at Safestore-myStorage, which is secured with a special security lock. You will receive this from us for FREE, together with the request to return it to us after the rental period.

✓ Identification
When you move goods in or out of Safestore-myStorage premises, you’ll need to bring two forms of ID with you.

1. Photo identification (ID card, passport, driver's license or valid student ID).
2. Confirmation of your address by means of a current utility bill (e.g. electricity, gas, water), municipal tax bill, or bank statement.

✓ An Emergency Contact Number
We will need an alternative contact name and number in case of an emergency.
