Archive storage in the Netherlands

In the Netherlands, the law says that you must keep business records for at least 7 years (10 if your business relates to immovable property, electronic services, telecommunications, or broadcasting services). Those records include:

• General accounts
• Stock records
• Purchase and sales receipts
• Payroll accounts
• Credit and debit account records

Over the course of 7 or 10 years, that paperwork can really accumulate, and make your office space cluttered; it can be difficult to keep your records in an organised manner if you’re having to store them wherever they’ll fit.
 

Where should you keep your archives?

Keeping your business archives in a self storage unit will not only keep them clean, secure and dry but will also free up space in your office for the day-to-day running of your business.

You can file your business archives in clearly marked boxes organised by year or contents. Our indoor self storage units at MijnSafestore vary in size, starting at just 1m² so you can store any amount of business archives with us - whether you’re a small start-up firm or a large, multinational company.

Nobody will be able to access your unit except you - our stores are monitored by recorded 24-hour CCTV, and each unit is fitted with a motion detector linked to our alarm system.

We advise that if you need to store sensitive or certain legal documents that cannot be recreated, these should be stored in specialist waterproof, fireproof storage not currently available at MijnSafestore.

Our rooms are available in a range of sizes, from 1 m² to more than 46 m². You can quickly and easily move rooms if you need more space as your business and/or archive stores grow.

You can purchase boxes, protectors, racking and packaging at our stores to help you to store your archives in an organised manner so that you can find and retrieve your documents when you need it.

You can keep your unit for just 2 weeks or for however long you need after that. We have stores in 6 locations across the Netherlands, close to major road and rail networks in Amsterdam and Haarlem, with onsite car parking available. It's easy to load and unload your unit; we have trolleys and pallet trucks available if you need assistance, and many of our units are on the ground floor and accessible via loading bays.
